The outpatient consultations offer specialty care for patients with chronic rheumatic diseases. These include:
- Inpatient ward service during period of flares
- Diagnostic bone and joint MRI scanning
- Therapeutic intra-articular and soft tissue injections and aspirations
- Education on rheumatologic diseases and treatments
- Clinical research trials
- Ultrasound guided diagnostic and therapeutic intra-articular injections
- Intravenous biologic therapy for rheumatoid arthritis, systemic Lupus, spondyloarthropathies and other systemic connective tissue diseases
- Rheumatology out patient and inpatient services for international patients
The department also takes care of all conditions like:
- All forms of inflammatory joint disease including rheumatoid arthritis, seronegative arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and gout
- Degenerative joint disease including osteoarthritis, neck problems, and back disorders
- Rheumatic disorders of childhood including the different forms of juvenile idiopathic arthritis
- Connective tissue disease including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), vasculitis, scleroderma and Raynauds disease, polymyositis and Sjogren’s syndrome
- Osteoporosis
- Soft tissue disorders including frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome and plantar fasciitis
- Chronic pain syndromes including fibromyalgia
