Intelligence is Asia Pacific's first TrueBeam™ STx

TrueBeam™ STx admittedly the world's most advanced Linear Accelerator (LINAC) for radiotherapy. The biggest challenge in today's radio oncology is to protect normal cells and tissues from radiation. And no other LINAC in the world does it with as much precision as TrueBeam™ STx. With Asia Pacific's only TrueBeam™ STx machine at Cancer Institute, we ensure the most precise radiotherapy. What's more, TrueBeam™ STx can also retain its precision of targeting cancer cells for moving organs, like the lungs and the liver. With any other LINAC, protecting normal cells in such cases is just impossible!

Gamma Camera

A Gamma Camera, also called a Scintillation Camera or Anger Camera, is a device used to image gamma radiation emitting radioisotopes, a technique known as scintigraphy. The applications of scintigraphy include early drug development and nuclear medical imaging to view and analyse images of the human body or the distribution of medically injected, inhaled, or ingested radionuclides emitting gamma rays.

Over the last few decades, the main clinical impact of gamma cameras within oncology has been in the diagnosis of skeletal metastases by bone scintigraphy. The strength of nuclear medicine is the ability to assess tissue function and there are many aspects of tumour biology that can be usefully evaluated by gamma camera imaging techniques for diagnosis, staging and therapy monitoring. The performance of many of these techniques exceeds that of structural imaging methods such as CT.

PET CT

Positron Emission Tomography, also called PET imaging or a PET scan, is a powerful diagnostic test that has a major impact on the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The PET scan which is a functional image, is fused with the CT scan, the structural image. This fusion of PET & CT helps the doctors to see the abnormality and locate it precisely as well. PET CT is the most advanced imaging system in the world.

PET scan is the most accurate, non-invasive way to tell whether or not a tumor is benign or malignant, sparing patient's expensive, often painful diagnostic surgeries and suggesting treatment options earlier in the course of the disease. And although cancer spreads silently in the body, PET can inspect all organs of the body for cancer in a single examination! PET scans are mostly used to detect cancer and to examine the effects of cancer treatment by Radiation and Chemotherapy.

Internal Radiotherapy/Brachytherapy GammaMed plus- iX

  1. Intracavitary Brachytherapy
  2. Intraluminal Brachytherapy
  3. Interstitial Brachytherapy

Brachytherapy is also known as internal radiotherapy, sealed source radiotherapy, curietherapy or endocurietherapy. It is a form of radiotherapy where a radiation source is placed inside or next to the area requiring treatment. Brachytherapy is commonly used as an effective treatment for cervical, prostate, breast and skin cancer and can also be used to treat tumours in many other body sites. Brachytherapy can be used alone or in combination with other therapies such as surgery, External Beam Radiotherapy (EBRT) and chemotherapy.
