The department of Transfusion Medicine provides blood support to the patients from far away places. The department collects blood on Voluntary and Replacement basis from relative and friends of patients only. Strict donor selection criteria are followed to ensure good health to the donor and quality blood products. Good manufacturing practices and Drug law are strictly adhered to, ensuring quality in all facets of Transfusion services. All necessary precautions are taken to ensure safest possible blood for the patients.

The department also tests blood for Hepatitis B Core Antibodies in addition to the legally mandatory tests to decrease the risk of post transfusion Hepatitis B. The centre is also certified for carrying out test for diagnosis of HIV infections (Elisa and Western Blot Test). A healthy inventory of blood components ensures blood support in emergency situations hence, providing optimal care to the patients. Global Hospital has an active Aphaeresis unit and runs round the clock facilities for Platelet Aphaeresis, Plasma aphaeresis, Lymphocyte Harvesting, Blood and Plasma Exchange.
